The Gospel of Jesus is good news – an announcement that changes everything. But for most of us, it is presented as good advice. Try harder. Be better. Give more. Do this, stop that. Good advice becomes a heavy burden to lift instead of daily bread to nourish. And many Christians are left feeling dissatisfaction and failure rather than life and peace.
The hunger you've felt isn't a sign that you've failed. It's a sign that something was missing.
- THE GOSPEL
Jesus already did what you've been trying to do.
When Jesus walked on the road to Emmaus with two discouraged disciples, He did one thing: opened the Scriptures. He showed them how every story — Moses through the Psalms — pointed to Him. Not to them. To Him. And their hearts burned. They didn’t need a program or a to-do list. They needed to see the Hero who had already done what they’d been straining to do themselves.
It’s already been done.
Jesus has already accomplished what you’ve been straining toward. The Father is not disappointed. The kingdom isn’t coming — it’s here.
Jesus is the Hero.
Every story in Scripture — Old Testament and New — points to one Hero. When you find Him in every text, the pressure to be the hero lifts. Scripture becomes a love letter.
Son & daughter, not orphan.
Not a servant on probation. Not an orphan earning approval. A son. A daughter. Loved, forgiven, and permanently free.
Desire takes care of itself.
When a person truly understands the gospel, you don’t have to convince them to share it. Understanding produces desire. Desire does the rest.
